On 28 July 2011, mcfc.co.uk confirmed that Aguero had signed a 5 year deal for a fee of £38,000,000.
Aguero finally made his City debut, coming on as a 60th minute substitute against Swansea City, netting a brace in a 3-0 victory. He followed this up by striking again in a 5-1 thrashing of Tottenham. Aguero continued his run of form- netting a hattrick against Wigan. He then scored twice in a 2-2 draw against Fulham.
On 1 October 2011, Aguero was taken off injured in a 4-0 victory vs Blackburn. He however returned to action, and netted an injury time winner against Villareal, scoring his first European goal for the club. He then started in his first Manchester Derby for the club, and netted in the 69th minute in an astonishing 6-1 victory.
Aguero continued to score and netted his 15th goal of the season in a 3-0 victory over Fulham. He then came on as a substitute and netted the winner in the Europa League last 32 first leg against holders Porto.
The striker continued to pop up with the goals, netting his 17th league goal in a 2-1 victory over eventual European Champions Chelsea.
On 14 April 2012, Aguero netted his 20th and 21st league goals of the season, whiled assisting Carlos Tevez' goal in a 6-1 victory over Norwich.
As they headed into the final day, City needed a win to guarantee them the title. Despite taking the lead in the first half through Pablo Zabaleta, the Blues went behind with less than half an hour left to play. In response Roberto Mancini sent on strikers Edin Dzeko and Mario Balotelli. With just 5 minutes of injury time left, City got a glimmer of hope with Dzeko equalising. With just 1 minute remaining, the Blues pushed harder than ever, and a lovely turn and pass by Ballotelli threaded through Aguero, who went past 2 defenders and blasted the ball into the net and winning City the title.
